ECZEMA & PHYSIOGEL

.

You alls, have you heard about Atopic Dermatitis?

*bunyi cengkerik*

What about Eczema?

Ha! They are the same.

It is a skin condition that causes itchy inflammation of the skin. Eczema most often affects infants and young children while in certain instances, it may persist into adulthood or first show up in later life. Few factors resulting eczema is genetic and also environmental such as dry skin, long hot bath or showers, stress, sweating, rapid changes in temperature, low humidity, solvents, cleaners, soap or detergents, wool or man-made fabrics or clothing, dust or sand, cigarette smoke, living in the city where pollution is high, etc. Certain food such as eggs, milk, fish, soy or wheat can be the factors too.

I should really thanks Nuffnang& Stiefel (a GSK Company) for inviting me to a workshop that educate me a lot about this skin disease, and recommend what best suitable solution for it. Not only I gained knowledge for myself, I am now can share it will all of you out there.

Hosted in Le Meridien Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the event titled PHYSIOGEL HYPOALLERGENIC Bloggers Workshop started with a very interesting presentation of the Dry Skin, Atopic Dermatitis and The Importance of a Healthier Lipid Barrier by an experienced Pediatric Dermatologist, Dr Leong Kin Fon, from Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

Allow me to summarize some important points from his presentations using the method of Q&A Concept.

What is Eczema?
Dr Leong answered it with some photos of children who affected with eczema.

I can feel their uncomfortableness. Itch, dry, Pain.

Is Eczema is a serious disease?
Eczema has some degrees of severity. It could be mild, very severe or in between mild and severe. The common thing between mild and severe eczema is its itchy and causes discomfort. However, how are they impacting the people's personality can be vastly different. The person who gets eczema occasionally at only some part of the body might different experience to the one had full-body eczema.

Can Eczema be cured?
In most cases, its clear up over time. There are children who their eczema seems to go away of their own accord as they grow out of it. However, some are still require treatment throughout their life. Anyway, It could surely be prevented & managed.

Amin.

Any recommended medication/product/lotion/cream for Eczema?
Even-though steroids are available with fast impact for this disease (of course The compulsory rule is to work with trained dermatologist) however, it may bring greater side effect. No No No for babies. There are many good moisturizes can be found in the market at patient's preference.

Dr Leong has came out with an individualized recipe accordingly.

"Choose the one that designed for Eczema"

Thank you Dr Leong for you very nice and knowledgeable presentation. He is very humorous too! :)

Few days before i attended this workshop i did perform some small research for myself, and found out many people who have used Physiogel give their very positive feedbacks on this product.

They said;
- It is moist and last for hours than other cream
- It doesn't feel sticky
- Faster healing
- It is lighter and easier to apply all through the body
- Recommended by many pediatrician and dermatologist
- This products also can be use at all ages.

That's what exactly what explained in the second presentation on The Physiogel Difference : Repair, Rehydrate and Revitalise by Ms Florence Chan, the Senior Product Manager of Dermatology Unit, OTC range, Stiefel.

"Unlike most conventional moisturizers that provide temporary hydration, Physiogel relieves dryness, rehydrat skin by locking in moisture for up to three days and revitalizes skin to keep it healthy"

The range of Physiogel product is a combination of hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic features that represents a suitable solution for people who experience eczema or dry skin problem.

Let me introduce the family of Physiogel;

Cleanser :
Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic soap free cleanser that cleanses, soothes, and soften without drying the skin.

Cream & Lotion:
Hypoallergenic moisturizing cream & lotion that provide physiological lipids in DMS technology, a structure similar to skin, hence revitalizing and repairing dry skin.

The price ranges for these products are from RM18 to RM60 each. I think they are affordable!

FROM CAIRO with LOVE (Cycle 2)

Salam peeps.

Ya habibi Ya Maulana :)

Well, i dun have much update after two days being here in Cairo.
I haven't got the chance to walk or jog along Nile river yet, but i heard from other delegates that it is not advisable to do that. They said it's very dusty outside.

Nile river. View from the meeting room

Nile River. View from my breakfast table.

Last night, Encik Mukhtar and i went to the nearest shopping complex (yahoo!!!) to check what we could have for dinner. And yes people, we have the most delicious International food, KFC!! Kikikiki.

Encik Mukhtar was really looking for Nasi (dia x boleh x makan nasi), while i was hoping the miracle to meet with any Chinese or Oriental restaurant here. Harapan tinggal harapan, yang ada cuma kebab, pizza, KFC, McD. :) Just to share with you, i'm not a fan of Arabian food. Kalau x, memang dah enjoy dah makan. hihi.

i x shop apa-apa yer.. serius nak suh En. Mukhtar balik hotel dulu sebab segan nak masuk keluar kedai mcm orang gila nanti. But Encik Mukhtar not allowed me to walk alone. Tapi dia x offerla pulak nak teman. maka terpaksala pendamkan hasrat murni i tu. "Toksahlah Nuurill, nanti awak hilang, susah saya nak jawab.".. Encik Mukhtar ni baik, macam ayah-ayah je. Xpe, i'm gonna get Maghda or Rania or Ola from Telecom Egypt to accompany me nanti. :)

It's true that you could feel outside there that wind's flowing with kind of tiny pieces of dust or sand maybe. After a while, i started to rub my eyes. Sakit! Hmm.. i wonder, even it 's very dusty outside there, but the Egyptian ladies' skin still superbly flawless.
Xpe, cuba tengok after a week here, kulit i jadi flawless and cerah macam diorang ke x. :D

My target today is to visit the gym. They said it's cool. X rugi achik bawak sport shoes. Yey! The gym is located at 23rd floor and the view of Nile rive is much much better up there. I'm gonna bring along my camera, fore sure. OK correction, not my camera, but my father in law's. When he heard that i'd be going to Egypt (terbayang piramid), terus dia offered camera dia sebab my camera dah ala-ala kurun zaman batu dulu. Hihi.

Meeting Day 1. Gadis bunga.

Meeting Day 2. Gadis biru

p/s: nampak sangat i sangapkan? keje amik gamba sendiri. Haih.

Yesterday, hubby told me that Oman's having 38.5 temperature. :( pity baby. I wish i was there with him. Hubby cakap he might be missing his momma. I tried to have a video call with him last night but not sure what's the reason, i couldn't get through it. Nak video chat pun x dapat because rumah my pil ade problem sket with internet connection. Urhhhh.. dugaan. Xpela, voice call pun jadila kan. Hubby told me that Oman macam tercari-cari my face dekat that phone. Owh sedih!!

What i did, i mmsed his dadda my pic's smiling (takkan nak tunjuk gambar i nangis kat Oman kan) and i received this;
"Dah tunjuk. Dia pegang gamba by sambil "K^rhGe9EUel=uXmFr" dalam process nak tido".

I know Oman would love to tell me something. I miss u too, dear. Hang on there, ok. You're strong Little man, kan?

Moga Oman cepat baik. Amin.

Alhamdulillah, while i'm writing this, i received an update from my hubby. He said Oman is getting better now. My mil's maid and sil are taking care of him. Oman dah buddy buddy dengan Cik Is (how he called my mil's maid). Siap boleh duduk atas riba lagi. Oh!!! i feel so relief. Senang hati momma, darling.

Okay. Til i write again, i wish everyone's happy and have a great day. Let's appreciate the loves among us because when you're apart and far away, you have to bear with the biggest pain in the world, which is, MISSING THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Little Man.

Little and Big Man.

I HEART MBG

Owh I Love Fruits so much!!!

So that's why.. everytime when i see MBG Fruitshop, i got crazy. :P

You can find MBG at many places.
Plaza Alam Central, Mid Valley, Subang Parade, Jaya, 33, Sunway Pyramid, Avenue K, The Curve, Melaka, ...wee!!

Irresistible kan? kan? I mean the fruits :P
(Pictures were grabbed from MBG website)

Most of the time, when i'm in Subang Parade and The Curve, i surely would stuck at MBG. Hehe. Paling koman pun beli apples 10 bijik. For me, the fruits there look very tempting, fresh and a lot of varieties. The prices are reasonable too!!.

Yesterday, i had my fruits dinner at MBG Jaya 33. A full cup of Skeena Sweet Cherries + Seedless Black Grapes (RM 5.00) and another 1 cup of mix fruits consisted of Apples, Pears and Strawberries (RM 5.00) was bought back home for my son and hubby. Yummylicious x hengat!!

I'm excited to share that at MBG they too offered MIX and MATCH FRESH FRUIT JUICE from RM6.50 to RM12.50 per glass. Tell you, there are more than 30 pre-created mix of fruit juices to choose from, complete with it's nutritional information. Owh you can create your own from the fruits available too! Trust me, they are pure juices, no preservatives, no sugar added and no ice.

Yesterday, I gave a try for the juice with the combination of Grapes, Strawberries and Pears. It's good to avoid constipation and alamak x ingat pulak ape lagi. :p (the real reason i chose that combination was because i'm so in love with grapes. Ngeh! Ngeh!) Rasa juice tu, pure and sedap gile hokey!! They are many more choices of juices that goods for eyes, cancer, bad breath, heart, etc, etc... which i am for sure will try them all!! :)

Not to forget, MBG does provide home and office delivery tau. But not on weekend la. For further information, kindly check here.

So, fruits lovers... SELAMAT MENCUBA.. yum! yum! :)

Ni gambar lama. While hunting for fruits at Penang Chow Rasta area.

HIS PRECIOUS EYES

This early morning i received a bulletin from babycenter.com on this issue;

"How can I tell if there's a problem with my toddler's vision?"

His Dadda starts to wear glasses since primary school. His Momma is a short-sighted at 2nine years old.

How about Oman?

Let's hear it from babycenter.com!

*****************************************
Your child is too young to know that he could have a vision problem, so you'll want to be vigilant about noticing signs of potential trouble. Contact his doctor if your child:

• needs you to hold books very close when you read to him
Momma: Alhamdulillah, Oman is keeping normal distance when reading his Animal's book.

• squints often
Momma: Nope!

• tilts his head to see better (while looking at a picture, for example)
Momma: Nope!

• rubs his eyes when he's not sleepy
Momma: When Oman rubbed his eyes, Yes..he is sleepy.

• seems to tear excessively
Momma: His tears fall down heavily when crying. I dunno how to judge 'excessively'.

• closes one eye to see better (while looking at a book, for example)
Momma: Nope.

• avoids close, near-vision activity, like scribbling
Momma: Owh he loves to chase the ants closely with his eyes. :)

• avoids distance-vision activities, like watching birds or planes
Momma: So far i think he's very very alert in watching distance objects, such as VOM VOM.. sebatu jauhnya dia dah jerit-jerit excited. Hihi

• seems overly sensitive to light
Momma: Hmm.. a little bit yes at this point. Nah.. but not overly.

• looks cross-eyed, or his eyes don't seem to work in unison
Momma: Nope

• has redness in his eyes that doesn't go away in a few days, sometimes accompanied by pain or sensitivity to light
Momma: Nope

• seems especially clumsy
Momma: Nope

• has a persistent, unusual spot in his eyes in photos taken with a flash (instead of the common red-eye, for example, there's a white spot)
Momma: Nope

• has a droopy eyelid that won't ever fully open
Momma: Nope

• has white, grayish-white, or yellow-colored material in the pupil of his eye
Momma: Checked. Nope!

• has bulging eyes
Momma: Uish! Nope

• has pus or crust in either eye
Momma: Nope

• has any other change in the appearance of his eyes
Momma: Nope... Errr... but sometime mata dia jadi sepet. Napa ntah.

• complains of eye pain or discomfort
Momma: Yang ni Dadda dia selalu. Oman x pandai complaint lagi. Hihi

Your child's doctor can help you determine whether you should be concerned. She may examine your child's eyes, screen his vision, or refer you to an eye specialist (ophthalmologist).
Momma: Extremely agree. Even without signs listed above, if we parents see something unusual with our kids precious eyes, cepat-cepatla mendapatkan nasihat doctor yer. :)

*****************************************

Harapnya Oman tidakla mengikuti jejak langkah Dadda and Momma.
Kot-Kot Oman teringin nak pakai spec.. dun worry. Momma sedia melaksanakannya.
Bisa diatur dong ah! :)

Dah pernah ape.... Ngeeeeee...

p/s: I'll be away to Cherating for 2 days since tomorrow. Sob! Sob! Sedeynyer...... May Dadda and Oman baik-baik aja. Aamin!!

XOXO,
-mommaholicSuri-
